2018年9月現在、Ionic3からIonic4(beta)に、Angularfire2 v4から@angular/fire v5に、RxJS5からRxJS6に、いろいろ大幅変更しており、2017年以前の情報が役に立ちにくいです。

公式サイトとその他のサイトを見ながら、Ionic4とFirebaseでチャットアプリ作成にtryしてみます。
